Taxonomy for resources

Categorise and organise information

A taxonomy is a way to categorise and organise information – making it easier for people find what they're after.
This is the taxonomy we use for subject specific resources under 'plan', 'teach' and 'assess' on the website. Within each category there are sub-categories to choose from, and within each sub-category there are resource types to choose from.

The resource type is shown to the user as a filter on the webpage, and also acts as the title to the resource.

Help
If a resource doesn't fit into any of these categories, please contact digitalcontent@aqa.org.uk

A taxonomy can adapt and evolve, but we need to control it carefully and only change it after discussion and user research – or we'll be creating the same kind of frustration for teachers that we feel when our supermarket moves all the aisles around.
